Would my kids please stay healthy for one freakin day?!
This has been my morning...
I was working, in a meeting, when I get a call from the day care (I ALWAYS take calls from the day care no matter what I am doing). Brandon is complaining of back pain. Hmm, that is strange. He complained a little over the weekend but we thought he bumped up against something and it was just sore and he didn't constantly complain. Okay, no problem, could be a kidney infection so I will call the pediatrician. While I am talking to them Brandon's teacher yells in the background that he just threw up. Greeeeaaat. It was most likely drainage, but while I am calling the pediatrician they will check his temperature. So I leave the meeting now and go back to my office and spend 10 minutes on hold with the pediatrician's office while I text Trevor to let him know what is going on. I finally get to a human and the schedule is full today but they squeezed him in at 4:45 at the Harrison office (way out there for us). Okay, fine.
I call the day care back to update them and I hear the nursery coordinator yell in the background..."is that Olivia's mom? She needs to come and get her now too." Olivia has pink eye. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! !@$%@!@
I call the pediatrician back and wait another 10 minutes on hold and they agree to just call in an eye drop prescription for her. About that time Trevor informs me he is on his way to pick the kids up. Now I am waiting for him to call me back so I can tell him the prescription is ready to be picked up for Olivia and she has to get at least 3 doses in today or we will have to take off work tomorrow because she will still be contagious. Grrrr.
BTW, I have been calling the scheduling people over at Children's since Friday and haven't called me back.
I dream of a day when both of my children are healthy and we go a week without a doctor's visit.
Aww. ((((hugs)))) The day WILL come. I have been where you are, weekly dr appointments and hospital visits. It's a great feeling when you have a week when you can just do nothing!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping we were there...I think my daughter has a crush on Dr. Englehardt and just has to see him weekly.
ReplyDeleteI am having the same problem with Children's.
