You know, it is stressful being the first parent to have snacks week! Brandon's soccer started last week and the coach had us all sign up for a week...I was the lucky parent to draw the first week. Yay me.
So I am standing in kroger this evening trying to decide on a snack. Last week the coach brought it since it was the first week and he brought capri suns and chipsahoy snack bite things. I stood in the cracker isle for a good 5 minutes. Animal crackers, goldfish, little cheese bites from the same company that made the ones the coach brought, and the cheese and cracker things. I didn't even think to ask if any kid on the team has any allergies to milk, peanuts, or anything!
I was terrified of making the wrong decision and make a bad impression among the other parents who I have only seen once! I ended up picking up the cheese bite things.
As I was walking around getting the capri suns (the clear ones that don't stain) I started to second guess my choice. What if there were milk allergies in the group? This isn't exactly a healthy snack anyway. So I headed over to the produce area hoping to find something that required little to no preparation. I found the apple and grape individually wrapped bags. SCORE! Healthy- check. Easy to grab- check. Allergy free- check. So I grabbed them. I kept the cheese things just in case though.
Who would have thought something as simple as picking out snacks for 3-4 year old soccer team would be this stressful!
