So Trevor and I signed life insurance policies tonight.
I remember when I was a kid thinking how silly that statement sounded...like only old people do that or people who are dying. And now here we are.
I am not sure what to think about it. On the one hand I am relieved because we bought 100,000.00 policies on each other. And, because we are young and relatively healthy (I may have fudged a little on my weight) we got the "super deluxe" policy price that was about 10.00 cheaper a month than what he originally quoted to us. Cool.
On the other hand buying life insurance is the ultimate reality check that we are not immortal and aren't getting any younger. I had a giggle the other night when we were watching one of Trevor's new shows, Top Shot, a reality show with sharpshooters. He told me he was cheering for the guy who is closest to "our age." I asked which one that was...he pointed out the college student who was by far the youngest. There were 3 or 4 other men who were MUCH closer in age than the kid Trevor pointed out...but in Trevor's mind we are still that young.
So now Trevor is planning to go white water rafting this weekend...good thing that isn't on the list of disqualifying activities. Skydiving was on the list...hehehe. I told him go have fun but don't get himself killed...until the policy actually takes effect. LOL.
