I am doing the crazy mom thing again.
We signed my son up the other night for T-ball through the our town. Why is this crazy? Well, first thing is he is already doing karate which I do not want to stop. So he will have karate 2-3 times a week and T-ball at least twice a week (once for practice and once for game).
Second, this is not the YMCA league...they actually keep score. I am a bit concerned that the competitiveness may bring him down a little, but I guess at 5 years old he needs to learn that you can't win all the time. This league gives out trophies and has tournaments and everything!
Third, Olivia is old enough to do stuff too, and she is currently taking gymnastics. While I don't know if she will be doing it once we get into t-ball season, if she is then that is a crazy schedule between gymnastics, karate, and t-ball, not to mention daddy's karate and mommy's kickboxing/zumba.
So why would I do this? Am I freakin nuts?! (don't answer that...it was rhetorical)
My main justification for starting him in this league is so he can meet kids who he will be attending school with in the fall. I was disappointed to learn that most of his friends at day care/preschool will not be attending the same school as him for kindergarten. As far as I know, NONE of his friends at karate attend the school he will be going to (not to mention they are all a year above him anyway). So I really feel bad about him not knowing a single person when starting school, despite our attempts to help him meet other kids his age. I am hoping that this will let him meet a few kids anyway to make his first day of school (I immediately teared up typing those 4 words) a little easier.
So come April the juggling act will commence. Stay tuned!
lol! You will be busy but you'll do it!
