I went to Kroger this evening with my mother and my daughter. She is old enough where she can sit up in the cart but small enough where it doesn't look like she should be old enough to do so. The reactions of people as we shopped up and down the isles were amusing, ranging from "awww, how cute!" to "oh my God that little baby is too tiny to be sitting up like that. Since my mother was present I held my tongue but smartaleck remarks were budding in me.
My favorite moment was standing in the check out line and a man was standing in line behind us. Olivia is familiar where her food is located and was grabbing my shirt from the grocery cart and trying to pull me to her. It was pretty cute actually and I was laughing at her attempts then I glanced around. The guy behind me was laughing at her too...obviously aware of what she wanted and was not embarrassed which was a refreshing change. The poor little 17 year old cashier's face was as red as my krogercard. I just laughed...it wasn't like she was lifting my shirt or anything!
Other than that I spent the day mostly being lazy while my mama did my laundry. I know, that is bad, but she actually LIKES doing laundry and who am I do deny her what she enjoys? Love you mommy! :)
I had a bridal shower in Lexington KY on Saturday. It's been years since I actually drove to Lexington, and it wasn't as long a drive as I remember. My friends house was beautiful (she just moved in) but her neighbor's house had me drooling. The house itself was gorgeous, but there was also a pole barn that matched the house exactly; a gazebo, and a paved go cart track in the back yard with 4 racing gocarts lined up by the back door. I think I found my new dream home!
My son started soccer this weekend as well. Everything was going pretty well...Brandon was kicking the ball the right direction and only cried once when another kid took his ball, then the coach started teaching them how to hit the ball off of their heads. WTF?!?! Does my 3 year old really need to learn to hit a soccer ball off of his head? Really?
Trevor was annoyed thateach week a different family has to bring a snack for the kids.It doesn't bother me so much. I signed up for next week...I am thinking oranges andbananas, but am open to suggestions. Brandon is just excited that his team is the tigers and his color is orange! He looks absolutely adorable.
