I attended a wedding of a friend who I went to college with this past weekend. She was the bridesmaid in most of my friend's weddings, so I felt a mix of joy and "it's about time" relief for her.
Several of my group of buddies from college were there. I wasn't feeling the greatest having still been recovering from my stomach bug so I was kind of quiet and still and got to watch some of the interactions. It was a little surreal at times that we are all as old as we are. I remember back on the coffee houses, the arguments, the silliness, and the crazy trips and now I look at us and I couldn't even find words to describe how I felt. Old? Content? Both?
What was most noticable was the number of children between all of us. Although most of the kids were not present that day, I knew all of them, most of them since the day they were born.
I wanted to get a group shot of us just for fun. I love that picture now. I know if I look back I can find a similar one with most of the same people in it from over 10 years ago, but much younger (and thinner in my case...lol).
It's just cool to know that despite all the arguments (and trust me, there were PLENTY), and disagreements, there we all stood, together.
