Halloween

I admit, growing up, I wasn't a big fan of halloween.  I think it was because my mom always commented about how much she hated it.  I did the trick or treating thing but that was about it.

My husband is the opposite.  He LOVES halloween.  When he was a kid he made a Freddie costume.  When we first got married he made another costume that blacked out his face with a light contraption so when he turned it on his face came through like a skeleton.  He loves the scary movies, the haunted houses, the entire package.

Having children I have come to appreciate the fun aspects of halloween.  I love the season...after all, October is my birthday month!  I love the pumpkin patches, the corn mazes, and the changing of the leaves.  And I LOVE seeing kids dressed up in adorable costumes and that whole part.  Can't say I am any more of a fan of the fright stuff than I was as a kid, although I will go to a haunted house as long as no one is videoing or taking pictures of me.  My son seems to be picking up daddy's love of being scared.  He falls for the fright hook, line, and sinker, then laughs about it.  My daughter on the other hand, not so much...
