The Parent Trap

So it finally happened.

I became like most parents before me.  Sucked into the twilight zone of hot toys for Christmas.  Commercials start about now showing all the hot toys that all good moms and dads should buy for their children to open on Christmas morning.  Mall Santas get more requests for these toys than any other, which is convenient because these toys are the ones advertised the most during children's programming.

My daughter loves Mickey Mouse and she loves to dance, so the new Dance Star Mickey is just perfect for her.  The problem is it is one of the biggest toys supposedly of the season and like all big toys they tend to sell out fast.  Naturally you cannot order it online or have it shipped to home so I have to physically go to the store to get it and hope there is still one on the shelf for my darling daughter to open on Christmas morning.

See it  HERE.

Why do I bother with this?  Why don't I just pick another toy?  She most likely will not know the difference.  We keep the TV on disney and they really don't do toy commercials, even for disney products, so she doesn't even know it exists.  Why?  Because...well, it's perfect for her.  It combines 2 of the things she loves the most right now...Mickey Mouse and dancing.  If the latest Tickle Me Elmo was the hot toy I doubt I would be going after it since she isn't really into Sesame Street yet.  That will probably be next year.
