This morning I brought my daughter into day care like normal. She slept during the morning routine which was kind of nice because I didn't have the back arching screaming child when trying to get her into her carseat. As I was pulling her out of her carseat upon arriving at the day care I saw it...gunky in the eye! Oh $%#$#! Pink eye. The day care saw it too and I had to take her home.
Once I arrived at home I realized my eye was itching a lot too and thought well, crap, either I am having massive sympathy pains or I have it too.
So my husband goes on into work. I decide to take my son into preschool so he is not exposed anymore than he has to be to the pink eye which would result in another sick day. He was not happy with that decision.
I decide to make it a superproductive day so I stop by McDonalds to get a latte to give me a boost. I got a sausage biscuit for Olivia, which she quickly downed the sausage, then she went after my latte. Apparently caramel mochas are one of her favorites now.
Strangely enough, the caffeine didn't affect her and within an hour she was taking her nap, so I began operation unplanned productive day. I started by cleaning out my kitchen of the expired stuff in the cabinets. 4 garbage bags full later, my cabinets are now looking great! By this point Olivia was waking up so she had lunch then began part 2 of my day. Errands.
We travelled from the bank to the pure romance warehouse to the post office to kroger, then off to pick up my son and FINALLY home!
I managed to cook a decent dinner (no boxes tonight!) and get my son to his choir practice, home and both kids in bed before my husband got back home. I even baked cookies (okay, those were boxed!). Aren't I the domestic diva today!
Why is this a big deal? Why am I so proud of doing all this today? Well, NORMALLY this would have been done over the course of a week interwoven with working and spending time with the kids and my other normal mommy duties. My days off to work on domestic duties are few and far between so I have to take advantage of them when I get them. Now I just have the rest of the house to clean out and organize....
...I am going to need a LOT of sick time!
I love days like that
