So I worked on a note from for a facebook thing over the weekend. I thought I would expand on it a bit here...
1. I am a sucker for a good musical or sci-fi movie.
The other night my husband was playing with his phone and he said something and we both paused and then immediately started singing the words to a song from Mama Mia. Although he won't admit to it openly, my husband likes musicals just as much as I do. As for the sci-fi...let's just say I have seen every episode of Star Trek EVER made...ever.
2. I love my children more than anything in the world and will do ANYTHING for them.
I am 99% sure that every mom I know would say the same thing so this doesn't require much justification.
3. I have learned about myself that no matter how crappy another person acts my feelings towards them do not shut off. I hate this about myself because all it has brought me is pain. It sucks to care about someone who has shown time and time again they don't give a crap about you.
This is a direct reference to a now 2 year old situation in my life that I have no ability to change. Back in the fall I tried to extend an olive branch to show that I would like to mend the tears in the relationship and was thanked with being blocked on facebook by the spouse, so obviously my olive branch was pruned.
4. I have the best friends in the world...they come from every walk of life and I love every one of them. :)
And ironically, many of them I mostly communicate with online.
5. Music is a very big part of my life.
I love all kinds of music, so it is hard to pinpoint one specific type. I know that when I am upset and I turn on the classical station while driving I tend to magically be calm again by the time I get home. I also know that 5 minutes of David Phelps is enough to lift me up when I am feeling hopeless. And there is nothing better than some old fashioned Weezer, Pearl Jam, and Aerosmith when I am in a good mood!
6. I'd consider myself a moderate and although I have strong opinions, I ride the fence on many issues.
Perhaps I should have capitalized the word strong. What is funny is my strongest opinions tend to be on the opposite sides of the political party spectrum. Abortion, equal rights, gun control, and welfare are all very strong issues for me, yet they are not on the same party line.
7. I love football...I hated football growing up and have only grown to appreciate it in the last few years. I will cheer for any team except the steelers and the browns!
I really hope and pray the Bengals make it to the Superbowl again someday. I remember very well the last time they were there. It was 1988 and they played the San Fransisco 49'ers. They played embarrassingly bad, but they were there! While we are at it, I would love to see NKOTB do another half time show. 1990 was the last time they did it and I remember it well too! Yes, that was random. Please see the title of my blog.
8. I have to fight a panic attack every time I drive over the Brent Spence...I know TOO MUCH about the stability of that bridge to trust it will last for my trip over it each time.
One time I got stuck in traffic and was sitting on it, and I literally had to breath into a bag to stay calm. I HATE THAT BRIDGE!
9. I spend too much time online.
This much is a little too obvious.
10.I have never been drunk.
I have been tipsy 2 or 3 times, but not what I would classify as drunk. I was still in complete control of my actions and remember very clearly everything that was said and done. I just have no interest in experiencing a hang over is my biggest hold up to getting drunk!
11. I laugh... a lot.
Sometimes I laugh at inappropriate times because if I don't laugh I may scream or punch. Yeah, laughing is definitely better.
12. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I love my minivan and wouldn't trade it in for any other kind of car (except maybe a NEWER minivan)
I should clarify this to say that if I was given a free car I would not look a gift car in the mouth. Otherwise, I am loving the space in the van.
13. I find the most random things amusing that no one else would understand or connect as funny. For example, I laughed until I cried today when Olivia's fortune cookie state she was about to have an enlightening experience.
When I told my dad about it at least HE thought it was hilarious...so now you know where I get my sense of humor.
14. I'm FREAKED out by spiders and silverfish.
Those stinkin silverfish like to hang out in my bathroom under my towels and I feel like my hair looks like Marge Simpson every time I see one!
15. I love chocolate way too much.
Chocolate makes everything better. And my daughter is learning this lesson young!
16. There will be MANY on my friends list who won't even be able to SEE this note, much less be tagged in it. hahaha
This is a facebook reference. I have much of my personal information blocked from many people to see. It's not personal, but I would prefer only people who I trust to see what I have going on in my life and see my children. I have been burned too many times by people to openly trust everyone. I think a more indepth cleaning is in order soon again too!
17. I hate doing laundry.
This is a given about me and if you didn't know this then you don't know me.
18. I have learned that those who SHOULD care often don't...but they are quick to jump to conclusions.
Maybe I just set expectations too high for people.
19. I never realized how strong my mamabear instinct was until I accidently saw the owner of the facility that starved my daughter and actually growled at her.
I was really surprised at my reaction to seeing her. She was in McDonalds luckily for her and I was in my car at the drive through so I didn't get the opportunity to at least rev my engine and give her my salute telling her what I thought of her.
20. I'm super protective of my family & friends.
Maybe I expect everyone to be this way and that is my problem. This is often the reason I lose friends. Family, well that's another story.
21. I am actually a very shy person.
This is why most laugh when I tell them I am a Pure Romance consultant.
22. I am still nursing my daughter, who is adamantly opposed to completely weaning right now.
She even gave me the present of another blister this week. I am trying to enjoy the brief extension, but the child has too many teeth for me to totally relax about it!
23. I appear moody most of the time because I have migraines and vertigo, but since those don't have visible symptoms to everyone else I just look like I am in a bad mood.
What is more fun is I have started this medication that makes my heels tingle. That's right. My HEELS. Ya know, that is NOT a fun feeling when I am trying to walk.
24. I'm very insecure with how I look.
I need to lose this weight but don't have the money to join weight watchers this time. I know having that accountability did it for me last time. Don't know what I will do this time.
25. I REALLY REALLY miss singing in a church choir, and am really sad that I probably never will again since I permanently hurt my vocal chords with a really bad bout of asthmatic bronchitis a few years back.
I should clarify that I can sing a few notes here and there. I sang along with the radio this morning and didn't break my rear view mirror. I have sung lullabies to my kids without making their ears bleed. But if I sing for any length of time (ie. more than a verse) I start coughing and getting gaggy sounding. It sucks because I LOVED singing.
I love this and may steal the idea!! <3
