So since I have used all my time off on time NOT for me, all I can do now is dream about what I would do if I had a day off totally for me.
Let's see. If I had a day off, I KNOW I would sleep in. I wouldn't let myself sleep too late though and waste the day away, so I guess I would sleep until 9:00. Believe me, with my kids, that IS sleeping in!
A Dunkin Donuts run for a caramel cappuccino is definitely on the agenda for a day off. Hopefully I would have a few bucks to spare for it!
Since I am dreaming, the weather is sunny. So I would then head over to the park and walk the track a few times while it is still morning and everything is pretty and new feeling.
By this point, I can see myself getting a little lonely, and this is where I tend to make my mistake with a day off. I can totally see myself going to get the kids to take them to the zoo since I have a rare day off. So, since I am dreaming and money is not an object, I would have an appointment to have my hair done at my salon, maybe even my nails!
After that I would have to meet a friend or something, because I would be getting lonely without kids around. So hopefully a friend would meet me for lunch at O'Charley's for the unlimited soup and salad (yum loaded potato soup!). Then if that friend is also having an imaginary day off, she can join me for some retail therapy, actual purchasing is optional!
I would arrive home and my husband would have picked the kids up from day care and started dinner (see, now I KNOW I am dreaming!). Dinner would be served and cleaned up by my husband and kids.
Since I am dreaming, the cleaning fairy came in while I was out and did my laundry. Thanks
The day would end with watching a movie with the family. Probably a kids' movie, but that is okay, because I enjoy the cuddles more than the movie anyway.
What a great day off! Even if it is only in my dreams!!
